My dear son has a bunch of Windows games he doesn't want to give up... I guess dual boot is the only option. Comments anyone?

Some games have native linux binaries, such as Doom 3, Unreal Tournament, UT 2003, UT 2004 and Neverwinter Nights. Be sure to check out icculus's Linux Gamers' FAQ (http://icculus.org/lgfaq/) for more information. Other games will run under Cedega (http://www.transgaming.com/) or Wine (http://www.winehq.com/). Liberated Games (http://www.liberatedgames.com/) has a list of games that have been released for free, either binary or source. Unfortunately, commercial games for Linux are few and far between.
