Hola, Fedora folk!
When I click on the Computer Icon on my Gnome Desktop, the browser window that opens up shows my vfat mounted partions as "10G Hard Drive(2): 10G Media(3)", etc. What I want to do is give those things useful names like "Projects", "Sound", etc.

As root, I can right click on the partition's icon and choose the "Rename..." dialog, only to be given the message "Sorry, can't rename that".

Hints/suggestions?

Thanks!

Well... if I remember correctly volume names should be changed from windows only unless you want Linux to see something different.

fstab

also check the HOWTO in my signature to be sure before you change anything.
