Over the last couple of weeks, I have upgrade my two FC2 servers to FC3. I cannot get ntp to start on either. ntp fails when it tries to drop from root to the user ntp. I am at the end of my meager knowledge in troubleshooting this. I have set the debug to 99 and don't get any messages other than the chroot fiails

Mar 18 12:09:17 linux3 ntpd[19032]: cap_set_proc() failed to drop root privileges: Operation not permitted

I have tried setting the shell for the ntp user to /bin/bash as well as to remove the -u from from the ntpd options file in sysconfig. Neither has helped.

Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Thanks!
