View Full Version : Network speed slowdown

I am having problems with my DSL speed on Linux part on my laptop. When I try to visit a web page, for example, on the browser status bar it displays Looking up www.fedoraforums.org for a long time, then it loads the page. It looks like it is trying to resolve the domain name, or something.

I am having this problem on both wireless and wired connections. When I browse through the wireless router configuration pages, all the pages load fast.

I have W2K on this laptop and DSL seemed worked fine. DSL works fine on the desktop also.

Is there any networking troubleshooting that I can do?

For some systems this helps with internet speed.
Edit /etc/modprobe.conf
Add these lines to the bottom of the file:

alias net-pf-10 off
alias ipv6 off
