I foolishly paid for a subscription to Transgaming but I'm having little luck with it. I have their latest version of Cedega which is supposed to run Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. After taking 3 days to get it installed, now all it will do is spin the cd rom when I hit "play".

Okay, I know...talk to the transgaming people. I have been trying but not much help there. However, when I run a little configure utility that comes with KOTOR, it says I don't have the latest driver for my nvidia video card and won't let me past the configuration stage. I downloaded the latest driver for my kernel, and also the glx and glx dev files as I saw mentioned elsewhere. The game doesn't play (this may have nothing to do with the video card) but I still get the same erron configuring. Here is the text that is saved when I run the KOTOR configure program. Note that this is the text before I updated the drivers. For some reason, every time I've run it since, it will act like it is saving the text but when I go to retrieve it, it's not there. Note, I also switched to mimic Win 98 (it shows xp right now) I am FC3 2.6.9-1.724. If you aren't familiar with Cedega, it maps your linux directories to "fake" windows type directories, which is why you see the "c:" drive, etc.

Also, I don't recommend Transgaming. If you look around, they'll say "check out our games database" but most of the games aren't playable. The first list you'll see is "most popular" but this, evidently, has nothing to do with playability, just general popularity...who cares? Which games work?

Anyway, NWN works fine, so I don't think my video card is really an issue, but I'd like KOTOR to recognize my video card.

there is a good post in the "how to" section for installation of the nvidia drivers

Thanks...and that's what I used. The drivers are not the issue, I've decided. Someone else said they got the same message but the game works fine. My game does not work fine, but I have decided it's probably not the drivers. I can play Neverwinter Nights and it looks great. Thanks for the tip, though.
