Just wondering ... I have Fedora 27 installed and just a little while ago I installed the KDE Plasma desktop environment, is there any difference or advantage to installing the Fedora KDE spin rather than adding the KDE desktop environment to the regular Fedora gnome OS?

Thank you

Personally, I prefer to use a spin ISO rather than downloading the Workstation ISO then adding another DE afterwards. you aren't missing out on anything by doing this especially if you never intend to run GNOME afterwards.

Pros:
- a much faster setup time
- a smaller, cleaner installation
- fewer packages to keep up to date

I like to use the network install iso version and use the configuration menu to select KDE as the desired preferred interface. With the network install version, you may also add the extra KDE groups as well as other groups.
Other groups and extra groups for development, word-processing, etc.
