I need to run vmware workstation on my FC27 laptop and I also need it with sound.
For some reason VMWare relies on /dev/dsp for sound which apparently has been deprecated for 10+ years or so ? (Kinda shocked by this... /dev/dsp isn't even in RH7 anymore and then to still not have changed VMWare.)
Is there a way to get this back on FC27 or some other kind of workaround ?
'padsp' does not work for this.

Hello,
you cloud try: /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss && /sbin/modprobe snd-seq-device && /sbin/modprobe snd-seq-oss
[root@vzpc ~]# l /dev/dsp
crw-rw----+ 1 root audio 14, 3 Jan 15 14:16 /dev/dsp

That works to the point that there is indeed now a /dev/dsp but no audio is coming through.
I'm guessing I now somehow have to get that redirected into Alsa/PA ..
