Where can I get full instructions on installing Fedora 27 on a HP EFI computer.
This has turn into a nightmare.
I had to remove Windows10 hard drive to get access to the CD/DVD drive.
I have 2tb hard drive with Fedora27 already installed, I don't want to loose my /home directory with all the data on it.
I did install a 1gb Fat32 partition on same drive for use with EFI, but I can't get Fedora27 install completed.
NEED HELP.

Hmm, can you make a small diagram on a piece of paper , where all the data is, and take a picture with your cellphone and post it here ?

The sdb which has Windows10 has been removed from the computer, so as to give access to sr0 CD/DVD drive, in the boot process Windows10 is blocking other drives from being accessed.
I can't get the Live-DVD to boot up on DVD/CD drive, it automaticly tries to boot into Windows10.
On the HP Setup I have the following features setup:
Legacy Support -- Enabled
Secure Boot --- Disabled
Fast Boot ---- Disabled

please keep the windows drive in the notebook and let the notebook boot to W10. then click to restart but hold down shift while doing so. when the options come up, choose to boot using a device and select the DVD drive from the options. it should then boot into the fedora live installer if the media itself is not corrupt. turning on legacy support is not necessary. fedora is EFI compliant, has a secureboot certificate and SHIM and using legacy mode could prevent access to W10 if you enabled it just to install fedora.

As a heads up- mount your EFI partition as /boot/efi but do NOT format it- it'll wipe your Windows bootloader from there if you do.

After setting up Custom Partition and click Done in Fedora27 setup I keep getting this Error message.

I can run a Fedora 27 Live DVD, but when I create three Custome Standard Partitions, I get a Error message:

"No valid boot loader target device found, See below for details."

For a UEFI installation, you must include an EFI System Partition on a GPT-Formatted disk mounted at /boot/EFI.

assign /boot/efi to sda4 but untick the format condition.

I did assign label /boot/efi and I did not format, using Gparted.
I don't know why Gparted change it to BOOTEFI

Question? I have two hard drives;
sda 1tb Fedora 27 (trying to install Fedora 27 on)
Sdb 500gb Windows 10

Which drive should the /boot/efi partition be on, I have it on sda4 ?

It looks like you created a new EFI partition. Is is not necessary. You can use windows EFI partition . That is why it is being told not to format it. do not use efi on sda. Use on sdb (on which windows is installed). If windows do not have EFI partition, then you should not install fedora in EFI mode.

I removed the Fat32 /boot/efi from sda and checked sdb Windows10 and there is no fat32 /boot/efi.
If I try to install Fedora 27 on sda / and /home , it rejects the install because it cannot find /boot/efi.
So do I need to create a /boot/efi on sdb Windows10 partitioning ? That would require some resizing Windows10 partitions to get a 1gb space for a fat32 /boot/efi
partition.

I t appears that your window installation is old way without UEFI. You are trying to install fedora in UEFI way. Such mixing not good.

Why is Fedora wanting to install as EFI if Windows is not ?
How can this be fixed ?
This is the first time I have had to deal with EFI, installing Fedora.

This is the first time I have had to deal with EFI, installing Fedora.

Because you probably have both UEFI/CSM booting enable (new/old.) Windows was installed via CSM (or BIOS in other terms.) The simple fix is to boot into Fedora Live but select the option for either Legacy/CSM/BIOS (all of which are the old school way.) Then just install like normal. It'll ask you where to place grub and you can place it on sda. Then I would modify your boot order to boot to Fedora's drive FIRST because GRUB will pick up both the Fedora install and Windows (instead of booting to sdb/Windows drive which only gives you Windows.)

This looks like required efi partition on windows. Dont use gparted. During installation, go for custom partioning and try to add this partition as /boot/efi without format.
