View Full Version : [SOLVED] Installing Firefox Quantum (57) on Fedora 25

How can I install Firefox 57 on Fedora 25? On the Mozilla website all I get is a download, which allows me to run Firefox from the extracted folder, but it doesn't "install" Firefox. Do I just copy the binary and replace /usr/bin/firefox with the new one? if so, how does it know to use all of the other stuff that comes with that download? I have tried Googling, and while I found instructions on how to add the repositories for the nightly builds, I cannot find anything on how to manually install it. I know it's pre-packaged with F26 but I don't have the bandwidth to upgrade just yet and am having a ton of slowdowns with FF 56 currently. Thanks.

Thank you! I thought that was just for beta builds, my bad.

Edit: is there no way to mark a thread as "Solved"?

There are now Bodhi builds for FF57 for both F25 and F26, and both are in updates-testing. See https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/?packages=firefox . The F26 build has already been submitted for stable, not sure if the same will be true for F25 but it looks like it.
