Hello,
I just did a fresh install of Fedora 26 Cinnamon spin in VirtualBox. Everytime I try to run updates, I get the "Waiting for process with pid 1973 to finish." Then it hangs. I'm new to Fedora and lost as I've never had it do this before. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Open a terminal and run this command:

ps aux | grep 1973 | grep -v grep

You should get one line of output telling you the name of the offending program. If you're sure it shouldn't be running, you can use

kill -9 1973

to force it to close. (Yes, there are several sets of options for ps that give you what you need, but that's the one I like.)

Thanks for the reply. I started my virtualbox when I got home from work to try this, and updates ran fine as they should. I have no idea why it wasn't before. I guess Fedora fixed it's own problem.
