After downloading a ISO-file I had to check it using SHA256 checksums. But whatever I type I do not find it from my Fedora26 Gnome. But I think it could be installed according to:
[root@huvila ukki]# LC_ALL=C yum search sha256
Last metadata expiration check: 7:03:25 ago on Fri Nov 3 15:02:37 2017.
======================== Name & Summary Matched: sha256 ========================

[root@huvila ukki]#But I do not succeeds in installing it:

Hi Fossiila

It is called sha256sum

indeed, there's nothing you need to install. It should already be there. the command is typically as below. make sure the CHECKSUM file is saved in the same directory as the downloaded ISO

sha256sum -c *-CHECKSUMhttps://getfedora.org/verify

Thankyou :)

I tried some kombinations for ex. SHA256SUM, SHA256+Tab and sha+tab but did not catch the right on sha256+Tab :Y

Then I tried different Yum's but probably did not understand the results or read it carefully enough :(

Supposing you can guess something of the name of a command for ex. it containing some string. Do there exists any other method to find it than guessing+Tab?

On my machine, for sha+tab, I get:

# sha
sha1sum sha224sum sha256sum sha384sum sha512sum shade-jar sharesec

BTW, it is dnf now, not yum. Yum is now just a symlink to dnf

# whereis yum
yum: /usr/bin/yum /etc/yum /usr/share/man/man8/yum.8.gz
# ls -l /usr/bin/yum
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 5 Oct 18 20:03 /usr/bin/yum -> dnf-3
# whereis dnf
dnf: /usr/bin/dnf /etc/dnf /usr/share/man/man8/dnf.8.gz
# ls -l /usr/bin/dnf
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 5 Oct 18 20:03 /usr/bin/dnf -> dnf-3
