Hello,
all manuals and examples allow to create boot entry with persistent overlay on usb partition, but not on file..i believe that it's possible, and i simply can't find proper example.

My current entry :

menuentry "[iso]Fedora Live" --class fedora {
set isofile="${isopath}/Fedora-LXDE-Live-x86_64-26-1.5.iso"
echo "Using ${isofile}..."
loopback loop $isofile
linux (loop)/isolinux/vmlinuz iso-scan/filename=${isofile} root=live:CDLABEL=Fedora-LXDE-Live-26-1-5 rootfstype=auto ro rd.live.image debug rhgb rd.luks=0 rd.md=0 rd.dm=0 selinux=0
initrd (loop)/isolinux/initrd.img
}

and i believe that it could be extended with something like :
//
loopback loop /overlay.img
///
linux rd.live.image rw rd.live.overlay=FILE=WHATEVER

does anyone have luck to do something like ?
