System: Fedora 26 in a Windows 10/Ubuntu/Fedora multiple-boot.

Machines: various Intel i7 notebooks, with UEFI

Tried to do grub2-install /dev/sda, failed

Installed grub2-efi-modules, grub2-install "apparently" worked with no error. But now can only reboot into a grub prompt text screen.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/GRUB_2 may be helpful. Note section "2.5 Encountering the dreaded GRUB 2 boot prompt".

Also https://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=312443 is about installing a second Fedora on UEFI - not exactly what you're doing, but maybe helpful anyway, since you've got Fedora and Ubuntu both potentially updating the UEFI partition.

On the other hand, fedora and ubunto grub modules would go into separate directories - so the second URL isn't relevant.

Thanks! Problem solved.

But just thought the grub install process should have been much more straightforward. Will file a bug report later.

Thanks again!
