View Full Version : How to install VLC media player on Fedora

For me VLC is a must have, it's probably the best open source media player for two reasons.
It can play all multimedia formats (that I've thrown at it), and as it doesn't need any codecs so it's easy to install. Just follow these commands.

Switch to the superuser.


su

Download the rpmfusion free repository.


rpm -ivh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm

Then install VLC.


sudo dnf install vlc

It's that simple. Enjoy listening to music and watching movies on VLC.
