This problem started from this morning, so what happens is that if I the lock the screen, and come back and type in my password and unlock, the screen goes blank as if it's going to desktop but it again shows the login screen and when I again type the password, the same thing again happens, it goes on like this in endless cycle.

I have to CTRL-ATL-F2 to get terminal and type loginctl unlock-sessions and then CTRL-ALT-F1 to get back into the desktop.

I'm using Fedora 24 KDE, is there a way to resolve this problem?

I am having the same problem. Something screwy after updates. I cannot unlock session once screenlocker activates.

Same problem with me, since yesterday.
Looking at the updates, on the 25th. I had:
kmod-nvidia
gnome-settings-deamon
ibus-typing-booster

On the 24th. I only had kmod-nvidia.
The previous update was on the 20th. and I don't think it's well before this issue appeared.

Can the ibus-typing-booster be the culprit? Or the nvidia update?

I'm sorry to hear you both are experiencing the same problem. When I wasn't getting any reply here, I asked this question at ask.fedoraproject.org and a user named segiomb provided a solution, here is the link: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/95875/problem-logging-in-after-locking-screen/

Hope this resolves your problem. Thanks
