View Full Version : Fedora 24 Internationalization Test Day on 2016-04-12!

8th April 2016, 11:14 PM
Hi folks! Yep, it's that time again: Test Day time! Next Tuesday (hey yeah, I'm posting the note in good time for a change) will be Fedora 24 Internationalization Test Day (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2016-04-12_I18N_Test_Day). What's 'internationalization'? Well, it's stuff like input methods and locale-specific packaging, so one big topic this time will be the changes to glibc locale packaging in Fedora 24. But don't worry, there will be folks from the Fedora i18n team on hand to help with testing, so please just come along and help out! Whoever you are, you can easily do some testing.

As always, the event will be in #fedora-test-day on Freenode IRC. If you donít know how to use IRC, you can read these instructions (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_use_IRC), or just use WebIRC (http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=fedora-test-day).

Just a reminder that this is tomorrow, please come along and help out if you can! Everything should be lined up in the page now, so you can start testing right away if you like.

I didn't catch this till just now, but for what it's worth, fcitx-anthy works without problems on F24 for Japanese input.

I found some people complaining about localisation issues today on G+ so pointed them in the direction of the Localisation wiki which details how to get involved. It's all well and good commenting on social media, however if they know better translations and have the time to do sit there extracting the urine I reckon they should be doing something constructive about it instead.
