Hi,
I have seen several issues regarding no sound in youtube, firefox, chrome.

In my case i have audio everywhere else, video players, sound players, games, skype. The only thing that doesnt work is sound through the browser, the most popular example is, YOUTUBE videos.

Before, it used to work inly in firefox, but after a few upgrades this week it doesnt work in any of the browsers.

This is how my pavucontrol looks

these are the devices detected:

[leo@L0calh0st ~]$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: HDMI [HDA Intel HDMI], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: HDMI [HDA Intel HDMI], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: HDMI [HDA Intel HDMI], device 8: HDMI 2 [HDMI 2]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC3226 Analog [ALC3226 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
[leo@L0calh0st ~]$

I have noticed that all of the applications where sound works, are using the PCH device, the analog one, so i think whatever player is used by the browsers, is using the HDMI output which isnt even plugged. How to force it?

if i do a

[leo@L0calh0st ~]$ alsactl init
alsactl: sysfs_init:48: sysfs path '/sys' is invalid

Found hardware: "HDA-Intel" "Intel Haswell HDMI" "HDA:80862807,80860101,00100000" "0x1028" "0x05de"
Hardware is initialized using a generic method
[leo@L0calh0st ~]$

Does that mean it by default loads the HDMI output?

any ideas? this is frustrating me sooo bad

so, to fix it.

1. sudo dnf install nspluginwrapper flash-plugin pavucontrol

2. In pavucontrol, adjust the profiles to leave out whatever is not connected, no HDMI connected in my case.

 HAPPY YOUTUBING!
