How i installed catalyst driver crimson in mate(Fedora23).

0. sudo dnf groupinstall 'C Development Tools and Libraries' 'Development Tools'

1. Downgraded xorg-x11-server-Xorg and xorg-x11-server-common to the F22 version:

$ sudo dnf downgrade xorg-x11-server-Xorg xorg-x11-server-common -allowerasing -releasever=22

2. Added the following exclusion line to /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora* files:

exclude=xorg-x11-server-Xorg xorg-x11-server-common

3. Reboot and update.

4. Download the latest Crimson driver "http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Linux+x86_64"

5. Extract it

$ unzip radeon-crimson-15.11-15.30.1025.zip
$ cd fglrx-15.30.1025/

6. Extract .run file

$ ./amd-driver-installer-15.30.1025-x86.x86_64.run --extract
$ cd fglrx-install*

7. Download patch from ("https://gist.githubusercontent.com/skarap/8843be76d286fd53835c/raw/a07d3608249bc7d95e3c9c12b4c402ebd2c9f21a/fglrx_kernel_4.3.diff") in this directory. You can copy patch content from website in a blank file, name it fglrx_kernel_4.3.diff, save it in this directory.

8. patch it by

$ patch -p1 < fglrx_kernel_4.3.diff

9. Install driver

$ sudo /bin/sh ./ati-installer.sh 15.30.1025 --install

10. reboot.

11. if above does not work. go to tty2 by ctrl+alt+f2. Be root then

$ cd /usr/share/ati
$ ./amd-uninstall.sh
$ reboot.
