There are three systems involved, two clients and an UW IMAP server. All three systems are running FC21 at the latest levels. The clients are running Thunderbird.
One of the clients is successfully accessing the IMAP server. All functions appear to work successfully.
The second fails to log in. There are no error messages, it hangs attempting to read from the server.
Is there a method to compare the Thunderbird configurations?
Is there a tool to review configurations?

Generally I start at the maillog on the server and see if the client even attempted to login (resolves DNS or other issues). Then look at the authentication on the failed and working TB client. Edit Account Settings -> Server Settings -> and look at the server name, port, connection security and authentication style. That and the user name and password are really all that should need to be changed in order to log in. If you are running with an old SSL certificate on the server, the newer TB may possibly rejecting an old RSA cert or something like that as well.

I don't know of any automated comparisons, but there might be one out there.
