View Full Version : Openbox, Yumex backend

24th September 2015, 09:05 PM
Hello guys,

i have installed Fedora22 minimal on my vm.
Then i install xorg, Openbox,obmenu,obkey,lightdm,yumex and yumex-dnf.
I can start the system. :-)

I make a menu entry for yumex and yumex-dnf. If i will install a programm with yumex-dnf, i became an error:

"Root backend was not authorized and cant continue" then yumex-dnf close automatically.

If i start yumex-dnf in terminal, then comes this in terminal:

"EXCEPTION : g-io-error-quark: GDBus.Error:org.baseurl.DnfSystem.AccessDeniedErro r: Session is not authorized (36).
On my host (Fedora22 mate-spin) i start yumex-dnf, search a programm klick install, then i type my password and install it.

Can any help me?

you could try running it as root. I believe the switch to add to the command in terminal is as follows:

sudo yumex-dnf --forceroot

Dont work.

$sudo yumex-dnf --forceroot

"yumex:error: unrecognized arguments: --forceroot

Sorry I was thinking of yumex --root. yumex-dnf runs as root without it. so sudo yumex-dnf should be fine.

ok, yumex --root works.

But on my host it operates differently.
Host(Fedora22 mate-spin)
I start yum extender(System>system Management>Yum Extender). I must type my password not the root and can install a programm like Inkscape

I start yumex-dnf extender(System>system Management>Yum Extender(DNF). I select a programm klick on install, type my password (user not root), and then i can install it.

Why it does not work so in the VM?

Not entirely sure. I've never had a problem in VM. When you set the VM up, did your give your non-root profile admin rights?

Yes, in the minimal install i select my user as admin
Then it stand group wheel.

It's not only the VM on my host i have install openbox too. I switch from mate to openbox on reboot.
The same problem.

It works! :-D
I install lxpolkit and add /usr/libexec/lxpolkit & to autostart(Openbox).

My question is can i use only polkit or must i use lxpolkit?

I can confirm this bug for Fedora 25 too, at least after this weeks updates(kernel 4.9.9), and I suppose it occurs only a couple of hours after a systemctl suspend returned.
