Git announced vulnerability here (http://git-blame.blogspot.com.au/2014/12/git-1856-195-205-214-and-221-and.html) a couple days ago and I've been looking for 1.9.5 to update my git which is 1.9.3 but have not seen it. Do I have the right repos in yum.repos.d or has it not been packaged for fedora yet?

It's probably in testing or your mirror is slow.
I read this was only a problem for systems with case insensitive file systems so the chance your Linux box is affected by this is slim.

It also isn't an issue on Linux. The fix is good, but the problem only occurs on Windows and OSX where the filesystems may be single case - as the attack seems to go through filename handling...

Those systems with case sensitivity don't seem to have a problem

Yep it is for case-insensitive OS's! But if you share a dev folder with OSX... Then it could be an issue!
