I tried Gnome in Fedora 20 and it worked well until I had to power off without shutting down.

The system could not restart.

I have boot as an ext4 which loaded
but root was on a luks encrypted (standard partition) and although it passed the authentication step,
it hung after that point.

I duplicated this a few times - each time the system was not recoverable.

I switched back to LXDE.

No one has responded to this but this is a confirmed bug.

Whether Gnome or LXDE, hibernate and power off cause a fault which prevents the reboot startup.

Only suspend works.

Any ideas?
