I hope I am posting this question in the right forum, if not I apologize.

I am running Fedora 20 and installed the latest version of vmware player. When I run it it tells me I need to compile and load modules into the kernel. I click install and it fails at Virtual Network Device.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Try this. It worked for me. It's from here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VMware

$ curl http://pastie.org/pastes/8672356/download -o /tmp/vmware-netfilter.patch
$ cd /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
# tar -xvf vmnet.tar
# patch -p0 -i /tmp/vmware-netfilter.patch
# tar -cf vmnet.tar vmnet-only
# rm -fr vmnet-only
# vmware-modconfig --console --install-all

I tried that, still failing.
