if you click on a file/properties it is showing a false total.
It shows the eventual full size of the file instead of the actual total.
is this right?:dis:

You need to ask a clearer question if you want useful help! Neither the post nor the subject contain any useful information.

What program are you talking about? What information are you expecting the “total” to be?

unclezillion, which program are you using?

i.e., File Manager and/or something else?

Post a sample of your program's output, too and this will help to understand what you see.

i called the post fedora 19 issues and that in itself gives a clue to what i am talking about ;)
If i open file manager/ downloads/ right click on any file/ properties/ it will give the wrong size reading!
if i dl a file that is 30 gig it will give a 30 gig size immediately which is a false reading.
am i wrong to expect the size to be the actual size rather than the size it would/may be at some future time?

If wasn’t at all clear what you referring to, sorry.

I wouldn’t be surprised if download software pre-allocated large files, as that helps avoid fragmentation and is one of the features added to Ext4 over Ext3.
