I've been looking at buying one of these for a while, but am concerned about compatibilty.

Are any of these machines 'Linux compatibile'?

Any recommendations? Any products I should stay away from?

thanks,
Jason

It looks like HP is that one for you: http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/suplist.shtml

I have an HP PSC 750 and it works excellent in FC3 and previous versions as well.

I've had 3 HP printer/scanners, and they all worked well, mainly because HP does quite a bit to support linux. I currently use the HP PSC 1350 because there was a great sale a while back ($79US). It does everything great under linux except photo-quality printing. HP's support of linux is the main reason I keep buying HP computers (I'm on my 3rd).

Thanks all for the replies. Looks like I'll probably go with a PSC 2175 (they're on sale). I'm currently using a DeskJet 810C (USB), had it for years, works great. However, it doesn't handle 5x7 photo paper as well as I'd like. And I'm lacking a scanner.

taylor65, I've found that manually adjusting the driver settings to 'photo quality' on 'photo paper' (600dpi or 1200dpi) produces excellent results. Try adjusting the settings a few times to find the combination that produces the best results on your hardware.
