I post this as ressource for everyone who gets nuts with the proprietary driver from canon, as I saw a hundred times because libtiff.so.3 is missing in newer fedora versions.
This is the guide with gutenprint drivers

Install gutenprint (if not already done):

sudo yum install gutenprint gutenprint-cups
Restart cups
sudo systemctl start cups.service
Install nmap
sudo yum install nmap
Check location of printer
nmap "x.x.x.*" where x.x.x is your network domain e.g. 10.0.0 or 192.168.0 etc. the asterisk is for searching all possibilities.
Check for the entry with printer:

Nmap scan report for
Host is up (0.014s latency).
Not shown: 998 closed ports
80/tcp open http
515/tcp open printer

In this example we found it at
Check bjnp port:
sudo nmap -sU -p 8611,8612 --script bjnp-discover
Then you should get something like this

8611/udp open canon-bjnp1
| bjnp-discover:
| Manufacturer: Canon
| Model: MP495 series
| Description: Canon MP495 series
| Firmware version: 1.010

start cups and install: Go to your favorit webbrowser and go to
Cups for Administrators -> Add printers and classes -> Add printers
Choose: Canon network printer
Connection: bjnp:// (or whatever port or ip adress)
Give it a proper name and desription
Select driver: Canon (Click continue) -> Canon PIXMA MP495 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9 (color, 2-sided printing)
(or different device...)
Print test page and die happy
