Just out of curiosity, why isn't amule in the main repos? isn't it fully open sourse?

Perhaps no one who was using it did not bother to package it. And yes, it is under GPL.

Actually "amule-nogui" is available: "Components of aMule which don't require a GUI (for servers)"

bob - are you sure it is in Fedora repo? I think that's what OP is referring to as 'main repo'. This is what I get.



$ yum list amule*
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, remove-with-leaves
Available Packages
amule.x86_64 2.3.1-2.fc18 rpmfusion-free
amule-nogui.x86_64 2.3.1-2.fc18 rpmfusion-free

Ah! Gotcha now. Well, I suppose that with all the flack about illegal downloads, the Project may have dumped anything of that nature. Got to remember that is the USA, we're subject to lots of lawsuits about that.
