I have a (sort of) working Fedora 3 installation.
I have to modify the boot commands to remove rghb or the boot will hang at the very end.

If have been trying to change the boot menu to include this change. I have had the following problems:

1st)
The installation does not have copies of boot.conf or menu.lst in ether the /boot/grub directory or the /etc directory.

I therefore created them.

2nd)
If I do a
#grub-install /dev/sda
I get the following message
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 does not have any coresponding BIOS drive.

My device.map is as follows:
(fd0) /dev/fd0
(hd0) /dev/sda
(hd1) /dev/sdb
(hd2) /dev/sdc
(hd3) /dev/sdd

3rd)
When I run grub from the command line:
#grub
grub >root (hd0,1)
grub >find /boot/grub/stage1

Error 15: File not found

I think these errors are consistent but I don't know what to do next.

HELP
