I just baught a Lenovo Ideapad y570 its a really good laptop and it has a nvidia gt 555m graphics card on it. I installed fedora 17 on it and I'm tryinng to get the graphics card to work. I tried installing the most recent driver with the right kernel from rpm fussion but it doesn't want to work. All I see is the log file on the display when it boots up. I then went straight to the nvidia website and installed the driver from there but the same thing happened. I also ran 'nvidia-xconfig' on both attempts but it didn't work. I got the default graphics up and working again but I can't figure out why I can't get the nvidia driver to work at all. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Did you follow the instructions in the first post of this thread?

If you did and are still having problems you might want to add your specific info at the end of that thread. More folks with solutions will see it there.

Set the bios to use discrete graphics card mode (if possible).

If not
