Need recommendations for a TV tuner card to make computer a "home theater" recorder.
Like a "mythTV" box, (I'm thinking) if I have that right on what it is.

I want to capture analog (from cable) & digital (from broadcast - maybe from cable in future)
I want unlimited recordings time, to do "marathons", etc.
Would like to keep cost down, though...

Would consider a USB one IF it works well.

But thought I'd ask here before making any FINAL decisions.

Here's the same one for a mere $6 bucks (http://www.ebay.com/itm/WinTV-HVR-2250-DUAL-TV-Tuner-Card-w-MPEG-2-Encoder-PCI-E-x1-/190701104026?pt=US_Video_Capture_TV_Tuner_Cards&hash=item2c66abeb9a). (if your lucky)

I use a PC-HDTV 5500 in my MythTV system. It works well. It is more sensitive than the tuner in my television.

No cable for me - it's all over-the-air. The card is supposed to be able to receive un-encoded QAM cable channels. I have never tried it.

Thanks for the replies.

I SHOULD have added that I need to buy from a known reputable dealer & there needs to be a decent warranty. (like a year or so) But the info helps. Keep it coming!
