Hello guys,
For a couple of days i've been trying to resolve a problem with VMWare 4.5.2 running a Windows XP VM.
When I used to run VMWare on Windows 2000 I would always opt to use the bridged networking option and the VM shared my internet connection without fail however with FC2 i get the following error when booting the VM

The network bridge on device /dev/vmnet0 is temporarily down because the Bridged ethernet interface is down. The Virtual Machine may not be able to communicate with the host or other machines on your network.

My ifconfig shows no vmnet0 adaptor but before i started tampering i'm sure it showed vmnet8 with the same IP as my WAP. When I set it to another IP i still had the same error.

Thanks for reading this post, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Tom

Are you sure it's working - did you build the tools to match your kernel (vmware-config-tools.pl)?

Not had a problem personally.

i used 'vmware-bridge -D /dev/vmnet8 /dev/wlan0'
then configured the VM to use NAT
going to have to start over now as my hdd has gone pop ;(
