Everytime I try to open a graphic file with Eye Of Gnome, I get

The Application "eog" has quit unexpectedly.
You can inform the developers of what happened to help them fix it. Or you can restart the application right now.

But nobody has reported anything like this to the bug report, and I couldn't find anything searching linux google and the forums.

Any help would be appreciated.
(Gnome 2.8, FC3)

try to start it from the console and see what the output is.

Works fine from console, I used the command "eog" then browsed to an image file, and it opened.

strange.
And it doesn't start, when started from gnome?
Try to start it with the eog command and give it a picture path. Maybe it has some error, when getting a parameter.

Using

[root@fedora ~]# eog /home/dewey/*.png
Brought up EOG fine, with the picture loaded and everything.

try it as user and not as root. That might be the thing.

Ah, that's a problem.

So it's safe to assume it's my theme then?

yes, looks very much like it's your gtk theme.

Is there any workaround you know of for GTK themes that interfere with programs?

Edit: EOG works fine when I turned off bloodline. Thanks for the help.

remove .gtk & .gnome files in your home directory and then login again
rm -rf .gtk*
rm -rf .gnome*
