I have just updated my FC3 box (through YUM), and one of the updated packages was redhat-menus. During the installation, it reported some error, and all the applications in the menu has disappeared? How do I reproduce them?

Thank you

you have to uninstall the redhat-menus rpm and reinstall the original one.

rpm -e redhat-menus

Then find the original rpm from your CDs or from internet
install it with

rpm -ivh redhat-menus*.rpm

However you don't want yum to upgrade this package again, because the upgrade is broken. To achieve this put
exclude=redhat-menus
in the [main] section in /etc/yum.conf

Ok, so there is no way to do this through yum, so that I can update through yum in the future?

Hey wait, I just updated through yum again, and it has just fixed the problem. I had tried to do this earlier, but now it seems to work. .

Cheers

Did they fix the broken redhat-menus package?

Its possible it was a broken set of dependencies....
