My f16 HD seems to have have picked up 10 Gb of something in the past few days; I have not downloaded anything so big. Any ideas? Bookman

Make sure the file .xsession-errors file in your home directory isn't getting huge. Delete it to recover the space (best done when the file isn't open so you could try doing that without Gnome loaded)

look for very large files in /var/log that's where the log files go

Check out /var/log/messages. It once grew to 9Gb on one of my machines because of a malfunctioning printer driver. It grew so fast it didn't have time to rollover. Only had that problem once, but that's the first place I look now.

jdisk report is a nice java disk space clickable pie chart program that works well in windows and dos. I find it very helpful when tracking down what's gobbling up disk space.

Oops, I meant to say jdisk works well in "windows and linux" :)

Is it possible to post your "df -k" entry?

Also, try the above posts, too. :)

baobab will help find it, but it's most likely in /var or /home
