Hi there I have installed linux and I just wanted to no where I can get some cool skins and how to install them.

you can find themes ans skins for kde here : kde-look.org and for gnome gnome-look.org

This might be a little off topic but along that same vane third party software download apt http://heidelberg.freshrpms.net/ or http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/packages.php from here then use apt to install synaptic and you can get loads of third party software.
Do this is super user.
apt-get update
apt-get install synaptic
synaptic

Dag is the best one but they will both give you good software, I hope this helps too.

I think art.gonme.org is a good place to start with if you want to play with some new theme in gnome. They provide you with easy follow up instructions.
