So what is the currently preferred way to add DivX streaming support to Firefox? RPMFusion is added.

The npapi-vlc (formerly mozilla-vlc) package from rpmfusion-nonfree repo does divX, and just about everything else.

Hmm, thanks. Will have to install VLC then too, but if it is the only way ... :)

no it's not the only way gnome-mplayer has a mozilla plugin called gecko mediaplayer.
I even watch youtube with it :D

Strange, could you post a link to the vid, I just tried DivxStage and it was fine.
You only have the one plugin though right vlc and gecko might clash if you have both

I meant with xpapi-vlc: It is actually happening with all DivX videos. (Flash videos crash. Lightspark seems to be not really stable yet. But this is not my main intention now.)
