View Full Version : F16 upgrade breakages

After upgrading 15 to 16 I found problems in mysql and printing. somewhere in the process the init scripts were lost. They could be started manually but would not come up at boot.

Happily systemd is very simple to use.

systemctl enable mysqld.service and systemctl enable cups.service automatically created the desired links and voila all fixed.

Posted in case someone else suffers the same fate.:D

Thanks for the tip!

I had to do

su -c "service cups start"
in order to get things rolling along happily again.

CUPS was not listed in the Services GUI prior to issuing the command (now it is - after a refresh).

upstart in fc16 has been changed from sysvinit to systemd, thus the command is a bit different
