Does anyone know if there is a way to activate the Gnome 3 activities menu using a mouse button? I haven't been able to find a way to map the command using gnome's settings. I've gotten it to work using xbindkeys, but it's not consistent. It never works on the first press (usually takes about 3-4 quick presses) and even when it does it usually closes the menu right away.

Basically, I want to map either 'super' or 'Alt + F1' to the middle mouse button. How can I do this?

Have you found a solution to your problem? I am struggling with this problem as well...

Unfortunately, no. I've posted in a couple of different places and haven't gotten any responses. If I get anything I'll update here though.
