Hi

Yesterday I updated Fedora 15 (to kernel: 2.6.40-4.fc15.i686.PAE) (32bit).
After that Fedora do not start. On the screen last activities are:

...
Started LSB: Daemon to access a smart card using PC/SC
Started LSB: The CUPS scheduler

and then nothing happens.

Do you have any idea what is going on?

greetings

Nope.

It might be systemd/dbus, but more likely your graphics driver failed.

My first guess with the information you provided and where it has hung in the boot process would be jpollards second suggestion above..

Graphics driver. Have you installed either the nvidia or ATI drivers? They require a kernel module that MUST be rebuilt every time that you update the kernel (and there has been a recent kernel update)

Try to boot in verbose mode to get more messages what might get wrong.
Edit the kernel line in grub config.
Press any key at the grub splash screen to get to the menu, then press 'e' to edit the first entry, scroll down to the kernel line and again press 'e', scroll along the line and remove the words 'quiet' and 'rghb. Press 'enter', when done, press 'b' to actually boot.

Thank you for your help. It was Nvidia problem.

did you get it fixed?

If you installed the nvidia drivers using the kmod, the updated module should be in rpmfusion. If you used the akmod, then it should have built it for you when you updated the kernel. If you built if from the nvidia site, then you have to build it again yourself.

Yes, I fixed it.
I used akmod-nvidia.
