Hi all,

I am trying to install GCC 4.4.0 on my Fedora 15 machine cause one of the pieces of software I need does not like GCC 4.6.0. I have tried installing it in my home directory in ~/gcc-4.4.0/build and the source directory being ~/gcc-4.4.0/src. Anyhow, when I try to configure with:

./configure --prefix=~/gcc-4.4.0/build
(I am using the absolute path for the prefix)

I get

configure: error: Building GCC requires GMP 4.1+ and MPFR 2.3.2+.
Try the --with-gmp and/or --with-mpfr options to specify their locations.
Copies of these libraries' source code can be found at their respective
hosting sites as well as at ftp://gcc.gnu.org/pub/gcc/infrastructure/.
See also http://gcc.gnu.org/install/prerequisites.html for additional info.
If you obtained GMP and/or MPFR from a vendor distribution package, make
sure that you have installed both the libraries and the header files.
They may be located in separate packages.

I found the two and used the with commands, but it still cant find them. Do I need to install them separately?

Thank you very much in advance.

Cheers
