Hi
kernel-devel rpm (http://pkgs.org/package/kernel-devel) is not the kernel source. kernel-devel is kernel headers.
You can find SRPMS for Fedora 15 from _http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/15/Everything/source/SRPMS/ or use http://pkgs.org/ for it (source package on sample (http://pkgs.org/download/fedora-15/fedora-i386/kernel-2.6.38.6-26.rc1.fc15.i686.rpm.html)).

[root@xxxx]# uname -r
2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686

[root@xxxx]# ls /home/bobtheuser/
kernel-2.6.40.6-0.fc15.src.rpm

[root@xxxx]# history | grep -i rpm
114 rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.40.6-0.fc15.src.rpm

Where are the kernel sources? I am trying to compile the Cisco Easy Connect VPN client and need to point the install script at them?

I looked in:
/usr/src/kernels,
/lib/modules/2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686/build

[root@as040658 2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686]# ls -ld build
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 45 Oct 24 16:31 build -> ../../../usr/src/kernels/2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686
[root@as040658 2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686]# ls build
build

Im confused.

Thanks.

Install the kernel-devel-2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686 package.

I did the rpmbuild bit for dependencies found here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Building_a_custom_kernel

and have a source tree now but not in the place i had hoped , there must be an easier way of dong this.

do I just stick this:
/root/rpmbuild/BUILD/kernel-2.6.40.fc15/linux-2.6.40.i686

in /usr/src/kernels and rename it to 2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686 ?
