The time has come to vote for the release name for Fedora 16. The Fedora community has submitted quite a few suggestions for the Fedora 16 release name, and that list has been narrowed down to the final nine candidates. Now you can vote on these names and assist in the final selection for the successor of Fedora 15 "Lovelock".

This vote begins 5 April 2011 and runs until 11 April 2011 at 23:59:59 UTC. Other important facts:

* We are using the Range Voting method (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Range_voting) * Ballots may be cast on the Fedora Elections System at https://admin.fedoraproject.org/voting

* If this is the first time you've used the voting system, you might want to read the Fedora Elections Guide, currently located at http://pfrields.fedorapeople.org/documents/elections-guide/

* To vote, you must have a valid Fedora Contributors License Agreement (CLA) and be a member of at least one non-CLA group

To vote, visit: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/voting/about/relnamef16

Thank you to everyone who helped by contributing names for consideration, and reviewing the names for the final ballot.

BTW, here are the names:

Barona
Beefy Miracle
Bonnet Legation
Llullaillaco
Mt. Orne
Nepia
Omoto
Verne

(Gee, I'm honored - the second one apparently was named after me! :p)

"Nepia" is a product name of boxed tissues here. If F16 makes people cry as much as the F15 development cycle has done, it might be appropriate :p

Uhm ... Yeah. I'm thinking I'm gonna just sit this one out.

Beefy Miracle? Holy cow, Batman! :D

I'm sorry, but if that one gets selected, I'm changing distros... pronto! LOL (seriously thinking that anyway after messing with F15)

Edit:

Just wondering, though... Beefy Miracle ties back to Lovelock... how???

Well, yeah. When selecting a username, "Bob" was a typo; I had really tried for "Blob", a more fitting description. :p (Wanna bet what's going to happen as soon as the Admins get into Vbulletin?)

Lesse. Log in to the Admin panel. Find member Bob. Change member name. Find sweet new avatar. Click on save button. Mischief accomplished, but it would only be fun if you couldn't change it back yourself.

Hmmmm.

Should we add the "l", or maybe just another "o"? It would certainly make the new avatar selection process more interesting. <....>

Sorry, this user is protected from being altered in the config.php file by the $config['SpecialUsers']['undeletableusers'] variable.
Well, how about that! Guess we can't mess with you after all.

I dunno, something about Beefy Miracle strikes me (and probably everyone else) as amusing. English isn't my wife's native language, but were it so, and I asked her, if she had a computer problem, "Should I stick a beefy miracle on it?" she might misunderstand.

man, I thought Beefy Miracle was such a shoo-in I didn't even bother voting. Guess it just goes to show there is no cabal...
