as subject says

since Ubuntu has removed a lof of Hal an OpenSuse10.4 how much of it will be removed in F15?

i see on the wiki it says 80%

It also seems that, if the last updated date is correct, it may be quite a bit further along.

I have been without hal on my gentoo install for a month, with k3b being the only thing that had problems and those were fixed in the last week.

As far as gnome goes, no hal should be needed at all anymore, the same goes for KDE 4.6.

I don't think that you can run the new KDE properly WITH hal.

im sure Ubuntu is using Hal-libs but has removed every other part of Hal in 11.04 . i'll see if i can get that thread

I think that it just comes down to getting the package maintainers to rebuild the packages without the dependencies on hal and libhal.
