Hi, everyone. This is a call for contributions to the validation testing for Fedora 14 Final.

Validation testing is a set of planned tests to try and ensure the release meets the basic release criteria. We have installation and desktop validation tests.

Testing is pretty easy: you look at the results page, there's a table of tests and results. You find a test with no result, do the test (the test page will have instructions), and fill in the result. See, I said it was easy. :)

Some of the installation tests require specific hardware, but many of them don't, and none of the desktop testing does.

Right now we're testing the TC1 images - that's Test Compose 1, it's the first pre-release compose which lets us identify major issues ahead of the release candidates. The validation test result pages are here:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Installation_Test
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Desktop_Test

and you can get the images here:

http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/14.TC1.2/Fedora/ (DVD / netinst)
http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/14.TC1.1/Live/ (live)

Please fill in your results on the wiki pages, don't post them here - do feel free to ask questions and so on here, but there's a thread in the F14 forum for general TC1 discussion already:

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=251294

thanks, everyone!

Adam,
Where can I find the list of minimum hardware requirement for F14?
For example, I tried installation with PXE boot and 384MB; got
insufficient memory error from anaconda. Without min req, I don't
know if this is correct behavior.
Thanks,
Tim Taiwanese Liim

Dexta,
Thanks! It was not there when I did my search two days ago, thus the
question.

I tried 14.TC1.2, but got this error

You don't have permission to access /pub/alt/stage/14.TC1.2/Fedora/x86_64/iso/Fedora-14-x86_64-DVD.iso on this server.

What did I miss? Thanks.

Not sure you missed anything, that seems wrong. Let me test it...

...yeah, I get the same. I think it may be because only the change to netinst.iso is significant between TC1.1 and TC1.2. In that case, just go ahead and get the TC1.1 ISO instead. I'm double-checking to confirm this.

go ahead and use the TC1.1 images for DVD stuff, the TC1.2 change was only for one obscure bug in the netinst.iso image.
