Not Bacula or Amanda.

Are there any network backup solutions out there that are open source and awesome? Something that behaves and is easy like Symantec Netbackup or Arkeia network backup?

i really backuppc. I love the rsync options. Saves me a **** load of disk. the webpage is browsable by links, elinks or lynx. The tar files by partition are great, plus you can request just a dir or file or... You got to know what your doing though or be able to use google. The defaults are kinda wrong and it runs slow as hell they way it comes.

you could use nfs mounts and tar to tape. That is really easy like netbackup. Never heard of Arkeia.

There are at least a dozen backup utilities.
ym info all
is your guide.

You seem interested in copies, not archival backups - is that right ?

Thanks for the backup pc tip. It would work..

I'm in an all linux environment, need file backups, sql backups, backup replication, and replication to tape.
