The following unofficial repositories are provided as-is by Fedora contributors. Contact the owners directly for bugs or issues (IE: not bugzilla). Thanks and happy hacking!

I added several of these repos in my yum.repos.d directory, such as Firefox4 and Backports, but they are not showing up in Yumex. Any suggestions :confused:?

Just in case, as soon as I added the new repos I started getting the "http://spot.fedorapeople.org/chromium/F13/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404 : http://spot.fedorapeople.org/chromium/F13/repodata/repomd.xml" message you see here for the chromium repo, which I have been already using long before installing the new repos. I did not modified these repo files' contents. For example, this is what I have in the backports repo:

[fedora-backports]
name=Backported packages from rawhide/unstable releases
baseurl=http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/lvillani/backports/fedora-$releasever/$basearch/

And this in the firefox4 repo:

[fedora-firefox4]
name=Firefox 4 Web Browser
baseurl=http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/spot/firefox4/fedora-$releasever/$basearch/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0
The other repos with the same issues I added were fedora-cloud and fedora-calibre.

You have been getting those errors for over a week (spot moved his repo last week).
Delete the old chromium repo as it's dead now.

Try

firefox4

su
curl http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/spot/firefox4/fedora-firefox4.repo -o /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-firefox4.repo

backports

curl http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/lvillani/backports/fedora-backports.repo -o /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-backports.repo

Hmmm, it appears eliminating the old chromium repo did the trick. The new repos are now showing up :D:

You have to be way more specific than that. What is the part that you are having difficulty with?

For example "Log in to fedorapeople.org and run...", where do I log in? What's the command for the log in (I suppose you do this from terminal)?

Perhaps you missed the very first sentence in that page.

"Fedora Packagers looking to create a repo"...

So you must already be a Fedora packager inorder to have access to that site. I have added a note that one must use ssh to login.

How do I became one? Is registration sufficient?

No. Fedora packagers actually maintain RPM packages in the Fedora repository

That's dull. I thought that repos.fedorapeople is more like Launchpad for Ubuntu... Any idea about similar service I can use?

There is some work being done to support such uses. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:Copr
