Dear All
I want to install ATLAS on my laptop to do this i have to turn of cpu throttling. could anyone please help me in doing so.

There are some ways to do it.

- Disabling ACPI(passing as a option in grub.conf or mod conf file)
- Accessing upower and setting it to not throttle.

Those are 2 that I know of, but I'm sure there is more options and maybe more easy ways.

I use a clever little panel icon (I'm using gnome) right click on a panel, click on add to panel, highlight "cpu frequency scaling monitor" and click add.
then left click on it and choose anything but "on demand" :D

This works for 2 cpus:

[gene@Mobile-PC ~]$ sudo cpufreq-selector -c 0 -g Performance
[gene@Mobile-PC ~]$ sudo cpufreq-selector -c 1 -g Performance. Just keep going with 2, 3... up to number of processors -1. ;)
