I recently updated to F11 and I love seamonkey. Unfortunately, F11 provides seamonkey 1.X instead of 2.X.

Other than upgrading again to F12, which I cannot do right now (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=238271), is there a supportable way to get seamonkey 2.X on my F11 instance? Is there a way to get a seamonkey 2.X fc11 rpm from somewhere? I could just download the seamonkey 2.0.3 tarball from www.seamonkey-project.org, but then I would have to manage it outside of the nice yum-rpm environment.

P.S. If you want the latest and greatest 2.0.3 (esp. for security fixes - I see 2.0 marked as "vulnerable"), you could re-build the SRPM against 2.0.3 source tarball. Here's the links:

You could also grab the source RPM from any version (I grabbed the F14 version from rawhide) and rpmbuild --rebuild

Got the source here: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/source/SRPMS/seamonkey-2.0.3-1.fc14.src.rpm

Whoa, totally cool.

After letting my little box cook up a new 2.0.3.fc11 rpm, I installed it and I'm happy:)

Slight downer that they released 2.0.4 today.

I also noted that seamonkey 1.X was discontinued on 3/16/2010. Will F11 ever go to 2.X? (Let me guess...NOT)

yeah, F11 is slated to be EOL in June, so my guess would also be "not". 2.0.4 will probably show up in rawhide soon though.
