View Full Version : Fedora 12 Freeze Summary

10th February 2010, 08:51 PM
I've been reviewing the 'freeze' complaints and many seem to be the same issue under different thread titles . Here is a list of common symptoms .

Box freezes (obviously)
Mouse can be moved
Mouse clicks do nothing
Keyboard is unresponsive
The button must be pushed
No log entries showing any problems

Its not specific to systems with one kind of video card .
Its not specific to systems using wifi .
Box worked fine prior to Fedora 12

In my case I've tried the hints at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Common_F12_bugs and still get freezes (I have intel graphics)

Can anyone add to this ?
Fixing a problem with no clues is difficult

Just adding to the complaints - mine is Fedora 11 64bit with Ati 4850 card. Have been freezing from time to time since the first update.

I have two different machines (ThinkPad T60 and Dell D400) with Intel graphics and none of them ever froze with F12. I would even say that F12 is the best ever Fedora version that I had on those machines, since it runs absolutely smoothly.
