Hi.. newbie Fedora user, coming from Debian/Ubuntu.

I need to look for a program which isn't supplied in F-10. I tried yum but it is a little more primitive than I was expecting.. no GUI. What is the GUI tool for Fedora which is the equivalent of "Synaptic" in Debian? Thanks :)

yum install yumex packagekit

System Tools -> Yum Extender or System -> Administration -> Add/Remove Software.

Yeah, you can only have started yum once. So if your system looks for updates (with yum in the background) you can't install new software. :)
